Originating in Burgundy, France and made famous by its growth throughout Switzerland, Wädenswil clone Pinot Noir was first brought to Oregon in 1965. Harvested from block 1-E and 2-A on September 15th, the grapes were delicately destemmed and fermented with native yeast for 14 days. The resulting wine was aged in neutral French oak for 12 months to highlight the bright, spicy, floral nuance of this pioneering clone. 50 cases produced. 12.5% ABV.
Vivid red hues backed by aromas of bright red berry, sweet flowers, and a brambled, earthy spice. Tight in its youth, and laser focused as the bracing acidity races through the delicate mid palette. Give this wine some time to open up and show its elegance, or drink it young alongside roasted turkey or fall chinook salmon.
